The 12000BTU On-road split unit aircon (non-inverter type) is an alternative to the Dometic Off-road aircon

Postives (as compared to the Dometic off-road unit):

  • 12000BTU is more powerful and will perform better in extreme conditions 
  • Noise levels lower 
  • Unit and installation is less expensive 

Negatives:

  • Startup needs more amps and might trip 10A breakers in some camping sites 
  • Visually less pleasing as compressor unit is installed externally
  • Split unit weighs more
